I stand by what I said above, but having seen what the car was eventually sold for I reckon it ended at a very "fair" price for what was actually included.

The car may not be kosher, but it's no more snide than a lot of the "Works" cars you see around.

Remember when it re appeared a year or so ago the putative seller was talking about a price tag in excess of £100,000.

In the above post you refer to buff log books being hard to fake up. At one time it was fairly easy to obtain blank Buff & blue log books, I believe this is one of the ways some of these historic cars have been resurrected over the years.

Noted.

With a NOS blank Buff (RF60 I think they're called)?, the sky's the limit...

GPH is a thing of utter beauty. At 60 I would say the research and collection of all those unique parts makes it worth it.

I think we have to accept that a tool room copy of the real long dead thing that has its ID is where the value is. You're in effect buying the right to own the new incarnation of the car.

Caveat emptor (and actor).

Couldn't have put it better myself.

The thing that interested me about this car having heard all the stories was one of the pictures supplied with the car, was this before the restoration?

good point,.i think this car was made though not restored in the true sense of the word, though some of these pics are def original thats obvious ,i wonder how much of the real version is original in any event,???.. like so many 40-50 year old cars when people say "thats in good condition for its age"..how old are the various parts ?...though this thread is not about originality or even the nice kit thats been put into it !...its about those who ring copies...albeit nice copies..
