Weston Speedwell Rev Counter

Post by 62Countryman »

There is a new item listed on EBay's UK site. The part is a Speedwell Weston Rev Counter. The maximum RPM is 6K. Does anyone know what type of vehicle this rev counter is used for?

Speedwell offered "Speedwell Weston" rev counters as 6,000 8,000 or 10,000 from stock & any other graduation or option could be supplied as required.

I have had 4, 6, 80, 10 & 12 at one time of another.

I was bidding for my next project, but certainly won't be again! Was £10.00 when I left this morning.

That is no ordinary Speedwell Weston!

I can't imagine for the life of me what the coax is doing in there.

Someone either knows what it is or is in for a big shock when he pays his £300 plus.

I know who the mad bidder is, for some reason he is genuine and obviuosly wants it really badly, more than me.

This company is producing a replica, I asked about the price, there are only five of these Weston units available. Price will be in the region of £335

The original one on ebay is a bargain at £295.

I have one the same myself, it's sitting on the shelf in the garage for the last 30 years. Might be worth cashing in with eBay :D

tjw89 mentioned in the post that he knew who the mad bidder was. The rev counter sold for 340 Pounds. Did the buyer purchase a paper weight or is this a special rev counter?
