Altered so it works as a direct link for photos you are best off using a site like photobucket then you can copy and paste the image links direct

Re: my new shell
Hmm
Your apex panels have been replaced... and are missing a very important set of panels. The gussets are missing.
My shell has no front wings and it is sitting on it's side in this picture but you can see the gussets where the hinges go, this is also a 1960 shell so doesn't have the inner apex panels just the brackets.
You are likely to end up with bent a-panels and foul fitting doors as it currently is, you might want to look into that.

Re: my new shell
My 61 (avatar) never had gussets. Maybe it was "repaired" that way, or maybe not. Seems to me if the A panel were made with 2mm metal plate there would never be a problem.

Re: my new shell
That '60 laying on it's side in my photo is all original steel there, just not so original paint, a PO had started making a twini out of it so I had to reconstruct the back seat area, but those are factory apex panels and gussets.

hi All,
i have scanned some more photos when this car was racing in the sixties, still looking at how to post them. a very interesting history for this shell AND never having seen the road it is one solid shell.

Re: my new shell
Yeah i believe i bought it off the second owner since this car was raced...... what it did in between is beyond me although you do see photos of it all together painted blue almost on the road and that would be who i bought it from. who sold it to finish off the GMC truck so he could haul his modified mini around in style. he still has the 970cc that it came with and had it in a Mklll and at the track regular for a bit running the 1/4mi in 13;s so he said.
bout all i know and will be getting the shell painted and put together with my 1275 Cooper S engine and bits that are missing. keep ya posted with some picts peciodically.
