Mk3 S - daily driver project
Always had a think about black minis - couldn't resist this one and I'm going to make it into a nice daily driver , very solid shell and punchy motor , just needs some tlc, bit of paint here and there, interior sorting and a set of alloys
Might paint the roof black as well

Re: Mk3 S - daily driver project
I agree about black cars, but they do show up any ripples - that looks good though. I'd definately paint the roof black.
Mk3 elf doors? I like the door chrome against the black
The wheels are mingin' though - I'd put standard (silver / grey) steels on it.

Re: Mk3 S - daily driver project
put the right style wheels on today - alloy S rims with dunlop racing tyres, took the clubman front bumper off and put a proper mini one back on, looks tons better now
interior next job on the cards

Thats a very nice S
If you are going to use it in the rain ? I would recommend innerwings, to prevent rust.
They make a HUGE difference, when it comes to help keeping a Mini rustfree.
Side/bonus effect, is that they reduce the road noise
PS , love the reclining handle

Looks far better with proper (10") wheels on it. Makes a vast difference.

Re: Mk3 S - daily driver project
It's already got them on. The bodywork (it's the original shell) on that car is superb and will make a great little classic daily once fettled and the trim sorted...and it's really got some poke !

I dont have the last reciept here, but I think its this place http://fyunce.dk/
I know there are some in UK too, my friend once bought a set in plastic, from a company called Camlo.
The Danish ones, are made of alloy, with a rubber seal, on each side.
They completely seal off the whole innerwing, but are open in the front & rear, so air goes thrue = no condensation.
I seem to remember the price was 60 pounds, for a set, and they make them for all classic Mini,s
