yeah, thought there was times during the conversion that i wished i hadnt bothered.
the words 'not designed to fit' spring to mind!
please note, these are my own, individual sales, nothing whatsoever to do with my employer, minispares

Looking good
I'm looking forward to the next instalment!
Come on, Hurry up!
round rear lights = good decision. I used old Dolomite Sprint rears on mine ....if only I had listened to my old man!

Re: 1973 gtm coupe
the tub has had its second coat and is now colour sanded down nearly ready for its third coat - that should be it - then hopefully its a quick flat and it will polish up ok.
the bonnet has had one coat, which didnt go so well (it may appear in this years Guinness book of records book under the 'longest, thickest run in the history of spraying.... ) thats now flatted and spot primed ready for coat number two.
the doors and engine covers are still to do, but i havent got the space to do them yet.
this is the tub after coat number two
a huge thumbs up to Mark though for helping me fit a pair of 8 foots so i can now see what im doing in the garage - its like an operating theatre now, rather than the 60watt gloom hole it was before

Re: 1973 gtm coupe
ok, im going to put my hand up and admit ive cheated. i got so sick of the dark, cold, dust, smell, hours of flatting etc that i paid to have the top coat done - it worked quite well, as it gave me a couple of weeks to clean the garage, paint the walls and the floor, so its now really nice in there.
what didnt work so well was i assumed the paint shop would have had it for a couple of weeks, i was a bit shocked when he rang up 24 hours later to tell me it was done! - i had a bit of rushing around to get it back etc!
still, now comes the easy part!

Looks great.
Extremely impressed with the quick turnaround as its certainly not a trait of most bodyshops. Thats why my project is stalled a little as waiting on the paintshop to finish their work

Very nice with round lights. Really make the design come out.
But, those wheels are going to be fun driving on cobbled roads

ive been inventing new swear words with this one.
example.
need a new screen seal. order said seal using recomendations made on gtm forum. discover that seal is too small for my car.....using old mini seal, discover that screen hole must (i assume) have been filed out by builder (gtm themselves fitted the screen in mine....) to accept a mini seal as it fits fine. try to order a mini seal long enough. 3 weeks back order.
rats
then discover that the same stunt has been done on rear window, bar this time they have hacked the screen down to suit the hole in the shell
double rats
after waiting six months (plus) for my special order springs for the suspension, i have given up and put the old rubber cones back in it, if i could find the wheels (which ive lost) i could probably put it on its wheels and roll it out into the rain for a photo
triple rats
i bought a full triumph steering col and cowl and switchs of some twat on retro rides, who of course took my money and never sent the item, surprise, surprise the moderators of said site are not bothered and this youth is still trading from there.
quadruple rats
i buy a block of ebay (to try and start moving forwards on the engine), the seller doesnt send it until i raise a claim, then because i dont leave him feedback the instant it arrives, (to unlock his paypal i guess) he does some strange reverse payment so i get my money back.......he then starts threatening me with legal action for the money which he gave back to me...........i then tell him that if he is going to go legal on me id rather wait until i get a letter from his solicitor before i pay him back.........strange bloke. the block is shagged as well, which is why i assume he dicked around in the first place
more rats......
oh, and ive just spunked over 100 quid on silicon hoses for it and discovered that some of them have the wong size ends, despite having the right size measurement printed on the hoses. so nothing fits together!!!
its not going well......
in my next life im going to become a football hooligan, this car lark is too much stress
