Hi all
I'm in the process of rebuilding a mk1 shell, and when trying to align the door gaps i notice that they change quite a lot depending on where you have the car supported. I had it on stands under the front of the floor, and noted that when I supported it under the front subframe the gaps altered drastically. There is no front panels on the car apart from the nearside inner wing, though the subframe is bolted in place. Obviously this is due to flexing in the body, but what would be the correct method of supporting the car to get the final gaps correct?
Does anyone have any experience on this part of the rebuild that might help me? Any advice or photos welcome!
Many thanks

Re: Fitting mini doors
The body shells were built with the floor supported and everything else added to it .The front end when assembled will stop the door apertures altering .
