ORANGEBOX RALLYING UPDATE
As i have'nt posted much recently on infamous 'Orangebox' i thought i would do an update. Last year i did 8 rallies with two 2nd overalls, a 3rd a 4th a 6th overall, 5 class wins and one non finish ( idler gear failure). Tis year is 20 years since i won the ANWCC historic rally c/ship, in 92 navigating in a Cortina GT, so i decided this year i would have a crack at winning it as a driver. Also it's 50 years this year since the cars first rally
So far we had 12th overall , a class win and highest placed Mini on the Tour of Cheshire, a bit of a naff result on the Ilkley Jubillee , a day when things did'nt go to plan , and a class win last saturday night, which should put us at the top of the points table. I've also refrained from going to a big engine, and i'm still rowing the 1-litre along .
Here's a photo ( taken by Neil Johnson ) on saturday night in the Gisburn forest complex.

It is heartening to see cars used, and sometimes abused!, rather just sitting in heated grates bing polished.

When's OB's next event? Next outing for me probably won't be until the Countdown in early September
