The US one seems to have 12" wheels on the front and 10s on the back, perhaps it made it easier to roll the wheelchair back out. We had them here too, but based on Australian vans.

Having a penchant for odd, but practical Minis over the years (think Wildgoose, for example) I chased those modified cars for quite a while. Unfortunately, the few that were in even decent shape were always over the top in prices, or they were very big projects, like the one on the U.S. eBay.
