WOW
A new block and crank
Its an early block because its on bolts for the main caps
That will make big money
I have herd that there is one , possibly two brand new 1071 engine/ box , still in crate , floating about for sale at the moment

Re: development head ?
Personally I directed this seller to this forum to offer it for a quick sale. More sadly there was a most interesting bit of vintage racing history that went with the block and crankshaft. The seller also had a special Morespeed cylinder head that got lost as he had to flee the UK in a hurry.mk1 wrote:Certainly makes for a cheap NEW Cooper S engine.

Seems to good to be true NOS parts like this. He said he paid 900 pounds for the block and crank back in the early 60's.directly from BMC and it was a special price even back then.

Re: development head ?
That's what I thought Simon.
I suspect that the original price has somehow kept up with inflation for the last 40 years.
Still, I reckon the recent sale price was very fair.
