put a thicker washer between the float needle holder and the lid of the carb, this drops the needle down a bit
please note, these are my own, individual sales, nothing whatsoever to do with my employer, minispares

Fitting an in-line filter just before the carb is a good idea. Even with Viton tipped needle valves I was getting occasional flooding, probaby small specs of rust coming through from the petrol tank. The in-line filter cured it,

found a unipart, new needle and seat kit,in a box of old bits and pieces, yesterday it was in a sealed brown packet, with a SU part number, fitted that, and i have had no more trouble yet :!: :!: thanks for your input might have to fit the filter yet :?:

The current rubber tip needle valves do not use viton as this suffers badly in modern fuel. The "rubber" end has been changed to something that is fuel resistant.

If you are using a real viton tipped needle from an old kit it will probably fail.
