Mk3 S on a popular auction site.
A pretty straight old Mk3 which really needs a total resto.
As no reserve will be a fine indicator of the market. No reserves do make people do stoopid things..
Has cover sills and the hydro looks sunk a bit. You could easily do 15 grand and then some having it restored with a professional outfit.
They rarely come up like this. As in a pretty honest unmessed example,
One to watch. What it achieves will truly reflect the Mk3 S market.

Now thats a nice car wonder if the garage transferred the plate, with the body no, to the new front ?

£9100!
That just shows that originality is everything. A few panels and a good paint job is all that needs - it's one of the last true barn find originals.

I'm selling an original one, no welding needed and it's ALOT cheaper than that .

Then it's too cheap?Pete wrote:I'm selling an original one, no welding needed and it's ALOT cheaper than that .
A mate of mine sold a Blaze orange example 2-3 years ago on Ebay. Very rusty, not on the DVLA computer (been off the road since 1977), original engine missing with a 1300GT unit in its place. Made the thick end of £3000.
Anyone can give stuff away.

Re: Mk3 S on a popular auction site.
Thanks for the advice, everyone's an accountant nowadays aren't they. It's alot cheaper than that one because the geezer that bought that one paid a premium for a car that has paperwork from new. It'll end up costing a bomb to restore and no doubt be worth less than the money shelled out but that's his perogative. Sometimes it's just about what you really want hence these spikes in values not just about the money, if it was none of us would ever go on holiday !618AOG wrote: Anyone can give stuff away.

No problem, anytime.Pete wrote:Thanks for the advice618AOG wrote: Anyone can give stuff away.
Although yours is £1100 cheaper (which isn't much really), the market always favours unrestored original cars with unimpeachable provenance - restoration projects especially so.

I think I went there on holiday once !618AOG wrote: unimpeachable provenance
I agree untouched cars (though that one's had a front end) do fetch the most but sometimes alot of the stuff's cobbed during restoration.

It's a stunning place - and only 20 minutes from Haute Couture.Pete wrote:I think I went there on holiday once !618AOG wrote: unimpeachable provenance
