Thanks, and yes but they dont deal with private costumers, so I will contact a glass maker,
to see if I can have a proper Tyneside made . that would be neat

Have a look at this.
The person who changed the wheel bearings, didnt do a very good job.
He fitted a std ball bearing set
but also didnt put any grease around the axle, so it was completely rusted solid to the seperator / inner bearings.

BIG tools had to come out

The worst part, are not that the collars, had snapped off (all 4) the collars were gone
wonder what happened ? any one have an idea ? as they cant just vanish (trapped between the disc & hub)

Jens, I've never tried it, but I reckon you could etch the Tyneside logo onto new glass yourself. If you were to use the laser printer technique used for making printed circuit boards to prepare a stencil for the glass, then etch it with one of the glass etching creams that are readily available, it should work. You've already got a good photo of what it should look like so it should be reasonably straightforward to transfer it to the glass and etch it.

Edit: of course I'm not the first person to have thought of this.

thanks for the link, I will look into this, if I dont have another piece made.

problem is, the piece I had made, is thinner than the original glass, so it dont "fit" the rubber seal.
I would prefer to have a glass made, with original thickness.

See this is why it was so important to track down the original head, that JanSpeed fitted = to see the colour, so I could get it right

When I restore a car, I dont mess around, sometimes I stay in the garage for more than 24 hours.
When I rebuilt my Grey Volvo V8, I once stayed for 36 hours, in one go.
In the time the WP was in the paintshop, I welded up my White Volvo Amazon, rebuilt the brakes,
fitted new frontwings, and MOT,ed it.
Helped 2 friends with the rust, before the MOT, on their cars.
Then it was back to subframes -interior - engine & gearbox, for the WP.
