Re: Crystal Palace Sprint 26th/27th May 2012
With just a few days to go, we’re all set for a fabulous third Motorsport at the Palace, and we’ve got some real treats in store for this year’s visitors.
Complementing the racing action, we have Diggerland and the London Karting Company, both new to Motorsport at the Palace. We’re also pleased to welcome The Wright Event and its Barrel Train ride, which will be taking younger guests on fun-filled tours of the park.
The Classic Motorcycle Racing Club will be displaying their rare motorcycles and sidecars, and fans of Formula One are in for a treat, as we have a replica McLaren MP4-24 F1 car on display in the show area and an ultra-realistic McLaren F1 simulator on which to test your skills.
We’ll be celebrating the 50th birthday of the much loved MGB, helped by the numerous MG car clubs in attendance. We’ll also have a host of other clubs on site too, including the Kent Capri Club, the Bexley Rover Car Club, the Lotus Cortina Register, the Imp Club, the Marcos Owners Club, and the Renault Alpine Owners Club among others. Many of the cars on display will also be competing in the Kleers Premium Car Care Products Concours ‘Show and Shine’ competition.
The Bromley Police Cadets will be helping us marshal this year, while on track, the action with be fast and furious. Among the many exciting cars this weekend, keep a look out for the Nissan Leaf NISMO RC Racing Competition car. This electric racing car uses the same high performance battery and motor as the road-going Nissan Leaf and is capable of a top speed of 150kph.
As usual, guests can stroll around the open paddock, chatting to the drivers and admiring the cars before and after they take to the track, all amid the relaxed and family-friendly environment of the beautiful Crystal Palace Park.
It’s going to be a great show, so pack your camera and join us on 26-27 May for a fantastic weekend of motorsport at Crystal Palace.
