slows comps

Post by slowboy »

sorry guys and gals. dont want to be boring, starting this thread for th peeps that dont know me  the car is a 1966 998 cooper, supplied new by stewart and ardern, it is one owner , rebuilt it in "99 and started rallying it in 2000, the car has competed over 100 events and has won 5 championships. the engine and box was done by oz from oap, a very fit 998, that manages to still put some manners on much more powerfull cars :D , i am taking a year out of rallying at the mo , have a back problem that keeps rearing its head when i compete,
any questions please ask,

hi niall, will definately have to come up and do your event !!!!!!!!, yep that lummies was more than wet, i was rallying with mr tullie, he has never been in a wetter event, in the lanes around barbon the water was bonnet deep, the little car never missed a beat :D , we missed 1st o/a by i think 23 seconds from alex willan and paul taylor, won the historic class though, paul enjoyed the win, as we had done a full season of night rallies all over the country in 07, he loves reminding me hahahahahahah, bloody good night nav though, we been into wales a few times, no local knowledge, maps we neither been on and we managed top ten o/a each time ,and 1st historic, but the sweetest result was 2nd o/a on the gremlin, we dropped i think 13 sec on the early jog, we then cleaned every control, totally on it that night, like i said mr taylor is a great map man, he got on it wherever we went, dorset, devon, cornwall or wales, just plotted and kept calm, that calmness helps in the car from a drivers side, mr tullie is incredibly relaxed,if he has just got back from a wrc round he is usually quite tired :D he will cat nap in controls , wake up at 5 4 3 etc and start calling straight away  , it cracks me up  this is on the gremlin, its a section leading into the darkest forest i have ever been in, needed to get the car straight as we went on to a narrow wooden bridge over a river, all the locals new about the cattle grid, we didnt
