BMC/Leyland Show 13th July at Gaydon

Post by Polarsilver »

13July 2025 @ Gaydon is the BMC & Leyland Show that will include a display by the "Abingdon Motorsports 70th Works Celebration" .. they have 150 cars already entered for this display including Cars from the Historic Marathon Group.
The Organisers are asking to spread the word, as there is still room for more relevant cars on 13th July at Gaydon.

Gaydon is a I think a good central location for car shows with the added attraction of the Museum which, in my opinion, has improved considerably with regular changes of exhibits.

I think there were about 75 works Mini registration numbers issued. Replicas have been created with the original number as we all know, including those replicated by BMC for retail showroom use after a successful competition result. Not forgetting of course all the replacement body shells used by Abingdon after events like the Acropolis, the RAC and destruction testing. Not to forget the Safari Rally Mini. Also the rally car reg plates used on Race cars internationally.
Going back to Pete's comment about the values of the "non original" vehicles I have recently learned that the recreated JD Classics is in Administration with an Auction of its entire company assets on 3rd April. It's not just Minis. We all love the cars really don't we?
