There are good facilities at Bicester Heritage...... or there will be in the next couple of years when it gets fully established. South Midlands and easy accessible. Maybe the Forum could think about Bicester
Just make a long weekend of it, that’s what we do 👍

I will be taking BCR.
It would be worth asking the MCR early, if they can give us a stand within sight of the main ring. Last year Downton had a stand allocated way at the back of the field in the middle of the general mini parking and no-one bothered with it. Fortunately BCR was moved in to the main ring with the Works cars by Jacco, the MCR Works registrar.

Yea I’ve asked MCR for a spot in sight of the main ring. Hopefully we’ll get an eclectic collection of cars together.

I'd be intrested to go with the 1275 GT with its internal hinges, with new fangled wind up windows that actually let fresh air in.....

For forum members, Classic minis and derivatives. Was just trying to avoid the experience I had last year of parking amongst the moderns and there must be enough interesting cars among members who maybe aren’t already on an MCR/club stand. I’ve asked for a pitch near the main ring too.

Count me in if it’s just for MK1’s

(otherwise it’s a bit pointless IMO)

Gary.
I have Mk1 (electric winding windows & hatchback), Mk3 (manual winders, historic road rally car) and a "Lombard Revival Rally 2004 modified 1997 mpi. Which one would be acceptable on the Forum's display? I can only drive one at a time!

Peter Laidler wrote: Wed Feb 05, 2025 10:48 am Couple of points..... If your car isn't quite ready Andy and anyone else, what about bringing it on a trailer to show a complete restoration job in progress. That sort of thing always attracts a lot of attention.

Annanuvver fing about the Forum and Beaulieu. What about some clever-arse computer wizard on the forum designing a small credit card sized badge showing the Forum logo (is there one.....?) with a space for a: your forum name together with b: your real name. A bit like one of those 'handshakes' where fellow brethren are able to recognise each other. Simply print it off, cut to size and stick it on your T-shirt. That said, I have already arranged with the GBnews weather girl that the weather will be fine, sunny and dry

Problem solved. The Mk1 performance forum secret society will be there, unseen but will all be able to recognise each other. So mote it be as they say.....

I'll be there but as I'm the ex police registrar I've got to be on the MCR stand. Mind you, I expect that as in the past xx years, will be the only one.
If you’re looking at badges, why not an enamel “pin badge” , these look quite nice and not too loud. You upload a design, looks like min cost is £200 for 50 off, which seems reasonable.
The name of the company is “made by cooper” , not some one in here is it ?

Peter.
A good idea which perhaps you should suggest to the MCR Committee as a topic to discuss at their next AGM as I am no longer a member. Lots to do in Bicester including the shopping village to interest partners. Also the Museum at Gaydon is not far away. Perhaps not 2025 as the IMM is in the South this year.
To be honest I think the British Mini Club organise several events in the "Midlands?" throughout the year Bingley Hall (January), Himley Hall (May) and Stanford Hall (September); which are well date planned.
There are a lot of Southern Mini Clubs & others regions who attend Beaulieu, not just MCR members so perhaps it has a permanent place in the annual Mini event calendar, not just an event for MCR members.
Sadly the International London to Brighton Run has disappeared from Brighton but I think there is an event to replace it in 2025 at the Ardingley show ground?
The Cambridge Chill weekend is the week before the IMM in August so might be attractive for our European members to plan a Summer trip to the UK.
Travel through Harwich to visit the Cambridge event and then travel south to Sussex for the IMM with a list to MiniSpares in Potters Bar to order the enthusiasts need for delivery at the IMM.
You know it makes sense.
