Chuck them on a bonfire!
But seriously, if the coating is not too thick they can be sand blasted. It basically plastic coating so the thicker it's applied the more work it takes to remove as media glances off.
There are also some chemical strippers that will melt the coating off. Seen it done by companies that re-coat bike frames.

Depends on whether it's powder coated in PAINT or whether it's a PLASTIC powder......., like you see on bus and railway carriage grab and hand-hold rails. VERY hard wearing
Plastic grab and hand rails, ain't nothing but burning it off will remove it. Done with a bit of care and just enough heat to start to blister it, and you'll be fine.
Powder paint, I'd try strong paint stripper or bead blasting. After all, it is basically paint in powder form. All based on my experience of both. My 750 Commando frame and all of the originally black parts on my S are plastic powder coated by ATO chemical many years ago.
Forgot to say originally.... Some baked hard paint in use is spirit based, used for things that get VERY hot inside vehicle turrets - and some things inside then get pretty hot, believe me. That softens with spirit based thinners such as meths.

Re: Powder coating removal
On a powder coated set of original Mag Minilights ..i went to Turweston Airfield to the Light Aircraft Painters & asked them what they use to Strip Aluminium & also Magnesium. the answer was only one type of plane used Magnesium in its Tailplane .. whatever i purchased a 5ltr can of Alloy Paintstripper that they use .. this Paintstriper came out of a big barrel so i cannot tell you who this paint stripper supplier is ..it worked on powder coat But needing a lot of applications and scraping work to get off & down to the base alloy .. the more powder coat off the better before next stage ..then wheels went to a bead blaster to get the remaining coating off ..only then could i establish the true condition of these wheels.
Magnesium content in my wheels then needed an Aircraft spec pre- paint base coat to seal the surface .. this was expensive stuff in various small pots needing to be mixed together in specific qty, before application.. was purchased from a UK aeronautical paint supplier as with anything to do with Aircraft not cheap & came with relevant certification paperwork,
Suggest you do your research & take good advice about Painting Alloys.

Re: Powder coating removal
I have been working with my powder coating shop for 25 plus years. I had him refinish a set of D1s. Due to out gassing he was not satisfied and stripped them several times. I have never ask what type powder or stripper he used. We have come up with a system for coating sub frames. We have since done some alloy wheels but nothing as difficult as D1s. Steve (CTR)
