what air filter box is this ?
Could not help a Forum Member looking for a 1071 Airbox .so now asking your advice to identify what is this Airbox seen in the photo part number.?..looking on Somerford they list ..
12A675 Air Filter Assembly= 1963-69 not PCV Valve.. Or is it 12A955 Air filter Assembly = 1964-69 model with PCV Valve ?
the difference between the two air boxes is the " position" of that small breather pipe that takes the hose from the rocker cover. Also wanted the small in length bell end extension tube that fits into the intake pipe part number 12A675 that is secured by that band clamp ..if any about ?

Not the 69 model. No PCV take-off on mine when new or my current one

Re: what air filter box is this ?
The PCV Cooper S didn’t have a hose from the rocker to the air filter box (as this would have upset the PCV). They just left that small pipe on the filter box open

You sure the end tube isn’t in there. Looks like you can see the radius of it in the photo? They do get rammed in.

Re: what air filter box is this ?
The airbox in your picture is the later type. The early ones had the angled pipe take off to line up with the S type rocker cover vent.
Other differences are the two ' X dimples' in the base to give more clearance to the SU dashpots which bent the lower face on the early ones.
The other modification was to shorten the two pressing at the rear, I think this was done to make it easier to manoeuvre the housing in between the
scuttle panel and the wingnut studs on the taller 1275 motor. They moved the defunct metal pipe to the left to clear the PCV valve so it could still be used on the early cars. The lids are the same on both types.

Re: what air filter box is this ?
Was going to jump in on this but as usual Bob has covered the differences in some detail. From above is only the pipe position that is different, so I supposed a modification would be possible. The very first 970s and 1275s also had this filter I believe, but only for a month or so.

Isn't it amazing just what info there is available from forumers on this site. We're all very lucky I say!

Re: what air filter box is this ?
I agree with Matt, looks like the intake extension is still in the tube but pushed in to its shortest length. If it was missing the end of the tube would show the 'slots' in the outer. The extension piece is 17H 8382.
