Could well be OE .. back in that day.. much stuff was "removed " from the Factorys or was sold direct to employees from the Factory Scrap Store ( this was my experience from the Cowley Plant at that time).
Those carpet bits were probably found in an ex Longbridge workers loft by his nok clearing out the house.

That looks like nylon carpet/....if it was made by BMC...surely it would have been wool with a hessian backing!

As Polar says. If you lived in or near Abingdon and owned an MGB, it was a good place to live. And owning an MGB GT V8 and wife with a roundarch Midget was a pleasant enough experience.

I bought a house from an ex BL employee who owned a Maxi. And yes, there was an attic full of Maxi trim. Least said, soonest mended - as he emigrated to Australia......., to work at Leyland Australia!

Assuming it is the original Veltone type carpet?
Some photos in thread linked below of original BMC Veltone carpet compared to the reproduction BAS Veltone.
It appears the original BMC Veltone is thinner and has a rubber backing.

Veltone carpet BAS International:-

It is the veltone he has pictured the rubber backing in his description. ;)
