As title really, have 4 points fitted at moment but they are out of date and so looking at 6 point harnesses.
Would appreciate options on whether it’s worth it, any disadvantages to 6 point, apart from cutting two more holes in the car
Thanks
Harness 4 or 6 point opinions please

Check out "Choosing a racing harness"|Demon Tweeks Blog.
Crutch straps prevent submarining and are therefore safer.
Personally I would also look at adding a belt bar to the roll cage.
Have you seen the images from the Monte Carlo Rally crashes recently which highlight the strength of the roll cage in rally cars today.

Thanks for the tip, the blog is really informative. Really, its difficult to come up with any conclusion other than a 6 point with a HANS isn`t it ?
I had seen the Schroth 4 point harness with the Anti submarining tech, but why take the chance.
Will have a look for the Mote Carlo crashes...

Re: Harness 4 or 6 point opinions please
Many years back on a test day in Wales we decided to chuck the car down a hillside - i had 4 points of a 6 point harness fastened - leaving out the crutch as we were just having the last spin round - the crash resulted in me slipping down the seat , crushing the alloy foot rest , bending the seat mounts and having a few choice bruises - 6 points are the only option really if you are competing or serious trackdays
