Discussion re A1 Cameras & potential liability of fines for pre 65 cars without seatbelts being worn & re-reading my Insurance docs that are due for renewal .. came to mind that my pre 65 cars have No declaration on the Insurance Policy that Seat Belts are in-fact fitted, and my Seatbelts are Not shown included as a modification on the policy docs & Statement of Truth etc.
Will ask the Broker what should be included as a modification before i re-new the policy? .. Do you have any advice or experiences on "Notifying Modifications" to the classic vehicle away from standard
( dunno whatever a "modification" actually is on a 60 year old car classic car ..given at the age of my Cars they cannot be as they left the BMC Showroom

Re: Insurance Renewal what Mods do you include?
Lots of discussion on this online, relating to fitted towbars etc on newer cars.
I guess if its not standard then its modified and all modifications probable should be included.
I've just informed my insurers of everything Non-Standard or retro fitted, to all my vehicles.
No room for wriggle that way.

My own personal experience of this is simple ,tell them about every nut ,bolt and washer that's not factory standard otherwise you will leave yourself wide open to the Insurance walking away from a claim and make absolutely sure they actually understand what you are telling them about ,also provide photos and documentary evidence even if they don't ask .
I've had more than a few issues with some very big insurance specialists even when it comes to setting the policy up...never mind actually claiming.
and I always remember an old neighbour buying himself his first brand new car and having the factory fitted head unit swapped by the stealership for an upgraded factory accessory head unit...his car unfortunately burnt out due to a wiring fault and the insurance turned around and said they would not be paying him out because he hadn't informed them that he'd "modified" his car from standard..he eventually had to sue the dealership.
