Donington Historic Festival... 5-6 of May..

Post by sandman »

I'll be bringing my car over to the UK to do some races this season... and have been granted entry to the U2TC race at Donington in a months time... Anybody else on here that will take part?
Cheers,

Hi Ed,

Have decided to give this one a miss this year, the pennies don't quite stretch to that this year.

Last years results here - it was a bit of a Cortina, BMW and Alfa fest to be honest.

Cross your fingers and hope for rain as this is a circuit where Mini's can really excel in the wet conditions.

Cheers,

3-IN-ONE had Hack's car on their stand at the Autosport Show and ran a competition for someone to have a go round Donington (as a passenger I presume !!??) in the car, don't know if that took place. That car's still for sale from what I understand , obviously £60K didn't seem a good buy to any passing multi millionaires. His Mk3 Cooper S (I use the term very loosely)has been for sale on Ebay for a while also for a similarly silly price.

The U2TC race looked like a one make Cortina race this year, didn't know there were that many made !

the race car cost £75k to build to such a high standard , the mk3 s has been reshelled 3 times , last time using a rover motorsport light weight shell and is brand new , the 3 in one price is to drive the car at Silverstone and be apart of the team at the silverstone classic ,and to only piss off 4-5 drivers out of 34 means that i must try a lot harder.
We all know how easy it is to get a mini up into the top 10
