No idea where you are located. I keep a box of them. I used to ship the box and let people select fit and return the balance. for cost of postage and a small fee. Steve (CTR)

That is an easy weld up repair....done many of them. Just bolt the housing to the case...good clean up around the crack and the weld will be as good as new. Make sure you have pivot pin/bearings in place as well...just in case there is some distortion when the welding is done.
That way you won't have to fuss with getting one to match the case.

Many thanks. This one looks like it has been welded in the past. Trouble is I recently bought this engine for my Moke and the broken piece is missing ( along with the 3 linkage parts).. so I need another housing & linkages.

So you are looking for a Morris 1100 diff housing?
And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.

Possibly.
My understanding is early Minis (and Mokes) came out with "magic wand" style gear shifters, followed in the late 60's with the "remote shift" set up until some time in the early-mid 70's. After which "Rod change" shifters were used.
My Moke is a '69 and the engine is circa '72. Both have the remote shifter.
The diff housing in the photo is what I need - it is where the the shifter attaches to the motor.

There is a subtle different in the remote housings between the mini cooper type (1961 onward) and the ADO16 type as pictured. The two are not interchangeable.

The orientation of the bolts that locate the remote housing are horizontal on the ADO16 type (and utilises a rubber bonded mounting plate) and the Cooper type is vertical and is directly mounted.

There’s much discussion on these and their fitment to minis elsewhere on the forum.

The “4 synchro direct change” found on base models, vans and mokes bolts from from the bottom using a mini diff housing. It’s not compatible with the side bolts on the ADO16 diff housing in your picture

Thanks guys, the engine/gearbox was purchased separately from the Moke body. The remote shifter was already in the body. I can confirm the gearbox is correct for a moke (2.4:1 diff).
I will double check the shifter housing, but I think it is a side bolt fitting.

Just had a proper look at your broken housing , it is an ADO16 housing with side bolts , if you are willing to keep same housing type happy to offer you one , postage would be from Portugal though.

remote diff case.jpg
photo of the diff case as spec for a Remote Channel Gear Change Change .
Note My mk1 Moke has same Diff Cover but with a direct gear shift set up & No remote channel .. to make it a direct shift set up requires a change to the shift rod to then use the Smokeing Pipe type shift rod & the Straight Moke specific Gearlever ).
