Genuine or repro?

Post by 360gts »

Have had one of these lying around for a while....is it an original or a repro?

They certainly seem to have been made for a long time, the "modern" ones seem to have been made much longer than the "original" ones. On a side note I see a lot of the new ones on ebay for sale for much more than they cost new at minispares...

The older ones have flat head retaining screws, and appear otherwise identical (other than some minor casting marks)

These are some good quality photos of a new one:

Looks original to me Dermot, but the repros are very good when I compare them directly with my ancient originals. The screw heads have been noted as a distinction correctly, and the actual screws are shorter on the originals - like yours.
