While I've not been a great fan of F1 in recent years, this new series on BBC2 is well worth watching.
Brawn: The Impossible F1 Story (BBC2 Sundays 9pm) - 4 episodes or all are on BBC iPlayer)
"Keanu Reeves shares one of Formula 1's greatest underdog stories. After the 2008 financial crisis, an under-financed independent team takes on the world's best. Ross Brawn, the genius behind Ferrari’s recent success, leads a management buyout to save the failing Honda team. Renamed Brawn GP, Ross leads the team to focus on new regulations, aided by a young engineer's discovery. Despite adversity, they built a car just in time for their first race in Melbourne, Australia."

Re: Brawn: The Impossible F1 Story (BBC2)
The F1 Honda Engine Chassis was already finished at the time Honda pulled out of F1 .. with Brawn Team re-start it was a case of No Engine but there was a instruction given to Cut Off that Honda Engine adaptor Plate & splice on the new one ..my Son was challenged to do that job & at that time they did not know what make of Engine would be fitted.
F1 Brawn Team just did not have any money or sponsors other than the Teams closure money that Honda had provided to pay for the Redundancy of Staff ..Brawn & Chums used that Honda money to just keep the Team going.. that years F1 Championship was the result of Team Members working incredibly hard it was all done with a lot of determination & long hours.

Re: Brawn: The Impossible F1 Story (BBC2)
Does nobody here, find it “Extremely odd” that the three teams that wanted to leave before the 2009 season….
(WILLIAMS)
“Allegedly” ran out of money and had to seek out a constructors prize money advance..
(TOYOTA)
“Allegedly” also asked for an advance and wanted out of F1..
(HONDA)
Aka, Brawn needed an engine that miraculously just appeared from Mercedes…
So..
All these three teams turned up at the first race with double diffusers…?? And none of the other teams did.. Especially considering all their previous run of form prior to 2009..
My “Ponderings”….
Did the owner/owners of F1 at the time have any financial forfeits to pay out, if they didn’t turn up to any of the FIA GP circuits without the full circus of all 10 teams..??
Was there any (um… extra beneficial help given to these three teams prior to the 2009 season start)
How come Mr Newey, and the other team aero chiefs having been asked about what the new seasons aero rules should allow and not allow, not turn up with a double diffuser…
It’s just an episode in F1 history (“to me”) that smells VERY fishy…. I think there’s a hidden story here somewhere…
Surely there couldn’t have been anyone who may have influenced the season by a sleight of hand… surely not in F1….?
Step back, look at something from a different point in time and ponder what “maybe could” have gone on at the big boy level.

Re: Brawn: The Impossible F1 Story (BBC2)
Back when the BAR/Honda Chassis was needing to be cut & modified, those involved did not know what Engine would be available to use the consideration at that time was either Ferrari or Mercedes either could supply their Engine packages to other Customer Teams.
The Double Diffuser was a BAR Honda designers idea & specific to no other Team at the start of that season .. further this was the early days of the carbon fiber gearbox development which seems to have not been mentioned... carbon gearbox this was another first for the Brackley F1 Team & much developed today from the original idea.
So Who will get their year 2026 F1 Car & Engine Package to work straight out of the box?
