Eastern Counties Motor Club Historic Cine Archive: Mini Scrap Book

Post by mab01uk »

"Those of us of a certain age would as kids had a scrap book, purchased for a few pence from the corner shop. Made from coarse recycled grey paper with a distinctive smell (no not the shop, the book) these would enthusiastically be filled with cuttings of racing cars sourced from scrounged motoring magazines. So here is a modern equivalent of that scrapbook of photos, but with a bit of cine film. All the photos have a Mini connection although some are rather tenuous. Equally they all have a link to Norfolk or Suffolk or part of another county which is very close."

Films include:-
"The very first appearance of Mini Coopers racing on track captured on film back in April 1962 at Snetterton with the new works 997 Coopers of John Whitmore and John Love locked in battle. Footage from East Counties Motor Club archive which you can find on YouTube."
