Seat belts
Seat belts
Hi all, does anyone know if the more modern inertia reel belts will fit the mk2 mini? Are they plug and play, using original front mounting points? Thanks in advance

Re: Seat belts
When you say 'more modern', what more modern do you mean. I would say that 'more modern, 2000 year onwards wouldn't be a straight fit because they are all interconnected with the electronic systems within the car systems.
In short, not enough info for a straight yes - no answer. If you asked whether a year 1996 XYZ turbo SUV car inertias would fit a Mk2 mini, maybe there's be an answer.

Re: Seat belts
Just bog std inertia reel belts as would/could have been fitted in the 60s/70s, and available easily from the usual suspects.

Re: Seat belts
From personal experience in an accident I recommend that the "retractor" piece is fitted with suitable reinforcement mount. See another thread in this section "automatic seat belts" for suggestions.
