Seat belts

Post by Jasonking »

Hi all, does anyone know if the more modern inertia reel belts will fit the mk2 mini? Are they plug and play, using original front :D mounting points? Thanks in advance :D

When you say 'more modern', what more modern do you mean. I would say that 'more modern, 2000 year onwards wouldn't be a straight fit because they are all interconnected with the electronic systems within the car systems.

In short, not enough info for a straight yes - no answer. If you asked whether a year 1996 XYZ turbo SUV car inertias would fit a Mk2 mini, maybe there's be an answer.

Just bog std inertia reel belts as would/could have been fitted in the 60s/70s, and available easily from the usual suspects. ;)

From personal experience in an accident I recommend that the "retractor" piece is fitted with suitable reinforcement mount. See another thread in this section "automatic seat belts" for suggestions.
