Clock bulbs

Post by Jasonking »

Hey guys, is there a trick to removing the clock illumination bulbs from the back of the speedometer? Are the holders push in or Edison screw type? They just seem tight and don’t want to turn?

The holders just push in, but the bulbs screw into the holders.

If they have been in a while the solder pip on the base grip the contact in the holder. Sometimes you end up braking the glass or dislodging the glass while getting them out.

They are tricky to grip. I generally wrap a little masking tape around the bulb head and find that helps undo them or do them up.
The holders should be no problem to remove from the speedo.

Yes it’s the removal of the bulbs that’s the problem, pain in the rear!
