Starter switch woes

Post by Aginley »

So the mini was starting fine ( everything newly built) now I have an ignition light and it won’t start when I turn the key the final part. It starts fine with the solenoid under the bonnet. Question is how do I check the switch is working and also is there anything else I should be checking?
Thanks

As a note, I’ve recently installed the interior light and door switches also I’ve moved the starter solenoid onto a period correct bracket

Bit of a basic approach but I'd just pull the ignition switch wires off the back of the barrel and short them together and see if it starts.
If it does then your switch is knackered. If it doesn't you need to get a volt meter out and trace
