Dropped a set of NOS steel wheels and a rivited 59 steel (for the spare) down to the sand blasters, they should be back any day now

Re: Shorrock supercharged 850
That is going to be BRILLIANT!
It looked a right horror to begin with All that rust and underseal - it reminded me of the first Mini I ever bought, well over 50 years ago. There's nothing new about Minis rusting

Re: Shorrock supercharged 850
Wow thanks for all the positive comments!
It was definitely worse to begin with than I initially anticipated however I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. A big part of the parts have come from forum members. Hoping for the car to be at Blyton in may

Absolutely stunning project. You’re really cooking up a storm with this! Truly beautiful, and a pleasure to watch it unfold. One day I’ll get my car up to this standard!
Thanks for keeping us all up to speed!

Re: Shorrock supercharged 850
Not a whole lot to report, got the wheels back from blasting
Painted in some high build primer.
Then some top coat and lacquer
Not sure why I only have photos of two, gave the hubcaps a good polish whilst I was at it.

Re: Shorrock supercharged 850
A friend gifted me some original interior parts that needed a small amount of DIY
Also picked up this nice accessory brochure from 1960

Re: Shorrock supercharged 850
Done a few small jobs lately
Collected some nicer original dash board trims and a companion bin liner to replace my old ones from a friend a few weeks ago
Very happy with those! Had to do some glueing to the companion bin liner but didn’t get any photos.
Started finishing up the engine, I had the primary gear re-bushed to suit my crank a while back but never got around to shimming it so did that. I also ordered the clutch and flywheel assembly from MED
Nice bit of kit that you probably won’t see on many 850’s
Progress on the shell will resume next year now, very unlikely I’ll finish the car for Blyton unfortunately

That’s good to know, I’ve used a lot of their parts in my engine build so far and been happy.Fanfaniracing wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2024 10:38 pm Think i have the same Flywheel on my 8Port and it performs well so far...

Re: Shorrock supercharged 850
Plodding along doing a few bits here and there
Fitted the flywheel to the engine
I also managed to get the NOS Morris horn push that was for sale on here (thanks Mark!)
Thought mine was in good condition until I put them side by side.
Also treated myself to a part that I’d wanted to use from the beginning of the build. A speedwell GT 5 port alloy head, it’s had some porting and polishing work done. It came complete but I’ve stripped it down for inspection, only a few threads need repair which is nice!
