They made lovely aftermarket alloys for early Golfs to .. after the Factory fit BBS and BBS split rims they were the best looking no doubt !!!.. foxy52

They remind me of some of the stuff Campagnolo were making for Abarth back in the day. Don't see many over on the continent, neat but far too wide for my tastes.
Of course I know what a dipstick is, you get called something often enough you look it up!

:( :( :( Overpriced , YES , I paid £310 for a set of 4 , 6x10 about 4 years ago and i thought i got a bargain , no wheel nut but had a chamfer put in and bought wheel nut from Rich @ minispares with tapered washers , Obvious bought the wheel nuts first so the machine shop could copy the chamfer onto the wheels , got them on mi plastic pig , they look COOL Mark Forster ;) ;) ;)

In all fairness they do look better on a Plastic fantastic than a saloon.

There was a set I saw recently which sold for around £120. Around a week later a similar set came up for sale at £600, maybe it was just convenient timing...

I Managed to recently find a set of 3 JA Pearce wheels in 12 inch. Hoping to have them by end of the week and then was lucky enough to find a 4th one with a friend I knew that used it as a display unit.

Apparently they are 7J, so not sure what 12 inch tyres will fit nicely over them. I suspect it was used on a race car back in the 60’s or 70’s, on a mini known as the “Pitco Quickie Mini”

Hi everyone. I'm still looking for a set of 12" and 15" J A Pearce wheels. Actually, I already have three 12" wheels and three 15" wheels, so I would only need one of each.

Long story, it's for this car: https://dempseymotorsports.com/m-505-ad ... -probe-16/

Thx,

Wayne

Here’s another example of a small production alloy from Mamba wheels . Have a set of four that came with my Minijem hillclimb car 35 years ago. The seller asked me if I wanted the Mamba wheels for an extra few quid. They are 6.75” x 10”
The racing mini book by John Baggott makes reference to them on the 2 cyl BDA mini .
Looking for a spare if anyone has one ?

I have a set of these that my car ran in period during its special saloon days / Free Formula 850. Interesting read, I was told they were an early Revolution. Can’t say I have seen another set!

I use regular 165/55-12 Yokos on my 7x12 Minilites on my race car. No problems.

While the JAP's and spinners always looked good....... A bit like a mickey mouse watch looks good* - I've always been a bit doubtful about the mechanicals and geometry of such offsets on standard axle shafts, drums and especially bearings, even taper rollers. The extra leverage on the axle components worries me because the extra leverage exerted isn't on a linear or straight scale, it's more of a curved or logarithmic scale (wrong word ?). OK for a racer where things are stresed to the Nth degree but stripped and inspected every other race. But a road car with your average not-too mechanically-minded owner driver, then I'm not sure.

I wonder what 1071 Bob or Spider Chris thinks

The factory produced the MPi Mini for the roads with much heavier 6 x 13" rims and 175/50 x 13 tyres and really just fitted uprated shock absorbers/dampers, so I doubt there is any significant difference to a Mini on the JA Pearce 6 x 10" rims and 165/70 x 10 tyres which probably weigh less...
I do remember an MOT tester saying MPi Minis often needed balljoints adjusting or replacing to pass, because the Rover Main Dealer mechanics no longer had much idea how to service and maintain such an old design and did not even possess a grease gun!
