The Hoosiers are pretty expensive as well. I pay $250 (£200) per tire. Luckily the race shop is generous and mounts them for free.

Is that about the same cost as a Dunlop CR65?

Hey Norman,

I’m currently running a KAD anti roll bar in the back and the handling feels great.

This winter I’m upgrading to the larger competition radiator from MED to hopefully help keep temps under control during the 100°F race weekends we have here in Colorado.

I think Dunlops are about £260 now.

Yeah- they are proud of those Dunlops. I wonder how much the Hoosiers cost from the UK?

Dusting off the Mini to head to the track. It’s been a long off season with lots of small little upgrades/tweaks. Looking forward to seeing how all the changes work on track.

I had a great weekend racing in Pueblo, Colorado. I was able to get quicker through the weekend and set some decent times. Here’s A link to one of the more entertaining races from the weekend.

Weekend recap- I made the 18 hour drive down to Hallett, Oklahoma to race at the Can-Am Mini Challenge. There were 13 minis/mini variants in attendance which is a large gathering here in the states! My mini ran well all weekend (until I broke a driveshaft). I did win the small bore (under 1100cc) class, by default really since I was the only 998 in attendance. Still had a great time and managed to qualify ahead of a few 1275s even!

You kept up with that noisy red car which is 1293?
Do you have a small bore head or 12G940 on the block?
18 hr drive is some commitment!

Yes. It was quite the drive.

The red mini is indeed a 1293! He was very quick on the straights, just not as ambitious through the corners!

I’m running a 12g202 head with 11:1 compression ratio. I would love to move up to a 12g940 head for my next engine I build. It’s fun passing the big motor guys to show them the “one liter” reg plate.
