Yes but only as a special order at that time. By late 1969 they seemingly made the last Mk2’s all monotone Mk3 colours.

The MK3 colour monotone Bronze Yellow is original on this Mk2 Cooper S below in Denmark (backed by Heritage).
As often mentioned many of the last Mk2 Minis including Cooper/Cooper S left the factory in Mk3 monotone colours and with a mix of parts like the Mk3 boot lid fitted.

Re: Just a nice period picture
Personally, I don't think that any Coopers and S's left the factory without door chromes. UNLESS new doors were fitted later in their life.
I say that because Cooper and S doors had a different part number, template jig drilled for the chrome top surround on the Cooper and S doors.
Yes, just to clarify the point raised later. I am only referring to Mk1's and 2's

Re: Just a nice period picture
I thought no MK3 S had factory front door upper door chromes as the door top is a different profile, when I retro fitted some to a MK3 I used Elf /Hornet wind up window chromes.

Re: Just a nice period picture
I did the same on my first Mk3 after finding a Mk3 Elf/Hornet in my local scrapyard back in the day.mk1coopers wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2024 10:02 pm I thought no MK3 S had factory front door upper door chromes as the door top is a different profile, when I retro fitted some to a MK3 I used Elf /Hornet wind up window chromes.
Minispares now sell the Mk3 moulding for retro-fitting the later taller winding window doors:-

I am guessing Peter in his post above is only referring to the Mk1/2 Cooper and S doors.

Re: Just a nice period picture
I'd thought of fitting those chromes to my last of the line RCSport. Are they a good fit....... anyone?

Re: Just a nice period picture
The Mk3 Elf/Hornet door trims are a good fit as you would expect but hard to find now. I have never fitted the Minispares Mk3 repro trims but I seem to remember some on here have said the size of the pop rivet clips required for the repro versions is different to the original BMC trims. So I assume Minispares supply the matching rivets for their repro trims?Peter Laidler wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2024 4:06 pm I'd thought of fitting those chromes to my last of the line RCSport. A composite of two images taken at Pinewood Studios on 15th February 1971, with Tony Curtis taking delivery of his brand new Mk2 Jensen Interceptor, the Mk2 Mini auto next to it is probably much rarer though...

I’d say possibly late 62, probably 1963! Ringo didn’t join until August 62.
