Really interesting actually. Looks to be Glacier white from new, then there’s bits of Bronze yellow on top of that (which is what DVLA have it recorded as) then the black on top of that. All those identity tags match and are correct , the only wonky detail I think is the brake master cylinder. That car would have looked the nuts I think in the early 80s and looks to have been off the road since the late 80s. Spurious interior so not W&P but a cracking project, albeit will be a labour of love and a very big job!

Reading registration number.

That's a good blank canvas to build something really nice.

Trouble is there won’t be that much left of it once you’ve blown £25k+ restoring it.

"Listing ended by the seller"...... So he must have received a tempting offer?
Tempting project but, as Pete says, you've got to throw a lot of time and money at something like that.

These were rented out to customers as Holiday kits, so that common problems could be sorted out if there was a breakdown whilst on holiday.

That's exactly right. When I worked for a BMC dealer, we had a pile of those in the stores for all the different models!

Me too when I was a Storeman (Called Parts Technicians now probably) for a Main BMC Dealer in early 70's.

My dad had one of the breakdown service kits in his car and we drove to Spain and back. He used one of the parts in the kit - I think that it was the oil filter - but he had to pay for the complete kit when he took it back. Not a great loss as he used it all - eventually!

Really glad I could help out and that it went to a forum member! I was half tempted myself, but no need for a grill muff up here in sunny Brisbane!
