New Forum Features

Now that the forum has been running stably for the past couple of weeks following the transfer from Mark to myself, I've started having a look at making a few updates to the functionality on the board.

- We get a number of requests for new members each week and to try and keep this place safe and spam free, I have to do a manual check. Hopefully, this is now automated and I can automatically approve new members more quickly. Additionally, there's a new button to report Spam - I'll monitor the use of this going forward.
- Several folks have asked for a 'reaction' type feature that enables a reader to acknowledge a post, similar to how the Facebook "like" system used to work. This is now implemented, give it a go if you've read something you particularly appreciated
- Uploading images. Always a bone of contention, and given that the forum's image server is some 9 gB in size and growing, I can't realistically uplift the allowed file size. Thank you for continuing to resize your images prior to upload and if you're struggling to do that, there are some posts in this section that will hopefully help. I am looking into add-ons to the forum software that will automatically resize images at upload, although this is technically quite challenging. Watch this space though.
- I've increased the number of attachments per post to ten (previously this was at five)
- Similarly, I'm also looking to implement a 'Solved' feature that can be used on the technical questions and wanted sections, and also perhaps used on the For Sale board.
- I'm also working on an enhanced Technical Know how section, which will be a sub-site of the forum with a view to getting all of the technical papers that have been written into one place with an improved navigation and search facility. Once it's ready to go live, I'll put an announcement in the Forum Announcements section.
