Practical Classics magazine puts a Mini back on the production line

Post by mab01uk »

On the cover and an interesting article in the October Practical Classics magazine about taking their newly restored 'all steel' Mk2 1968 Austin Mini Countryman project car, inside the Oxford MINI Plant to be photographed on the modern MINI production line to celebrate 65 years of the Mini.
(The article does point out it was of course not possible to put it back on the Longbridge production line where a Countryman Mini variant would have been originally built..and that Cowley was focused exclusively on saloon production in 1968).

"In the October 2024 issue of Practical Classics, our pals at MINI throw open the doors to the Cowley plant and allow us to celebrate 65 years of the original car. Matt Tomkins tells the story of the car as he drives his freshly restored Mini back onto the production lines at the iconic Oxford factory."
