Hi all,
I’ve had these what I believe are 997 cooper twin HS2 carbs and am looking to confirm what they’re and an idea of value.
Manifold number is 12A-309 P
Carbs tags are AUD 15L / AUD 15R
Air filter are PD2334/18 and PD2334/19
Thanks

Re: 997 cooper carbs
I don't know about the values etc but I'd suggest that the things of value are the original filters and the tags - if they are from a 997. The rest of the set-up is just generic SU.
Stand to be corrected of course

Re: 997 cooper carbs
You’re probably right, would be a shame to spilt them up as they’re so original. AUD15L + R are listed as 1961 - 1962 only so not sure if they’re different from the later onesPeter Laidler wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2024 4:10 pm I don't know about the values etc but I'd suggest that the things of value are the original filters and the tags - if they are from a 997. Can't be 100 per cent sure from the pics, but I think those are the earlier (wider) heat shields too. Square receiver for the springs as the airbox cut out wasn't required yet?

Nice complete set of 997 carbs, with tags , early filters and heat shields. As to value unusual to be so complete.

Re: 997 cooper carbs
The person I purchased them off said they were taken off early in the cars life along with the head. Unfortunately the head was binned the week beforeSMOKE GREY wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2024 5:46 pm Nice complete set of 997 carbs, with tags , early filters and heat shields. Re: 997 cooper carbs
I wouldn’t say that the carbs are just generic SU. If you want a genuine period set of Cooper carbs they look like a good option
The fuel bowl lids look like the right ones for that age
The fuel bowls look like the early type with a fixed angle
The RH carb has the vacuum advance port and the LH carb doesn’t which is correct for Cooper. The vacuum advance pipe is also there
The linkage has the correct pin type and not the new folded metal
The carb bodies are the early type with no breather ports
