Apparently based on a saloon not a van. I know what you mean about the perspective though, sometimes you look at a car like that and they do look sectioned, even the rad looks high from that angle of dangle.

Didn't my dad publish some picture of EOP at Oulton in an MCR newsletter maybe 5 years ago?? I'll have to have a nose but it's ringing a bell....

By the way Bryn, slight thread swerve, didn't your dad also have pictures of 8 EMO when it lived in North Wales ? ( after having it's roof cut off !)

Not quite lol but one of our ex neighbours owned it at the time you mention. There's loads of old slides I need to go through but at present time is somewhat lacking. Ill try and look over Christmas

Check out the Broadspeed update on the main Mk1 website, you may have all seen some of the photos before I'm sure but some you definitely won't. There's a John Fitzpatrick interview I did with him a year or so ago plus other bits and bobs. I still have some very early pictures from Fitz that with his permission I will also add sometime soon.

Some shots of EOP 89D when Barrie Smith owned it here :

According to Barrie : " I bought the Broadspeed Mini from Cheshires garage in Westgate Kent. I have seen it since it has been restored and it looks like new, a very valuable car these days. I only did one sprint with it which was organised by Margate and District motor club at Manston airport".

That is a fabulous picture.
I have some original brochures for the Broadspeed GT, are they worth anything ??
Cheers

Found this in CAR magazine may 66 , don't think this mag was that popular , so maybe this hasn't been seen for a while! .

Bit of a thread revival.
I have just added this to my collection, made by Revolution Model Cars of Australia in limited numbers.
The wheels are a bit big and the tail is a bit high but it's nicely put together.

Worth an update on this thread.

Looking at my original post, the link to the film clip no longer works, any ideas anyone??
(Edit : fixed the link https://www.macearchive.org/films/atv-t ... ified-mini)

Re: Ralph Broad with his GTS at Oulton 1966
The GTS was tested at Goodwood earlier this year, was raced by new owner Richard Locke at Silverstone recently and daughter Alice is racing it at Lydden Hill this Sunday in the Swiftune Trophy!
Going back to my original post wouldn’t it be great if the MACE archive digitised some of their other footage, some of which looks mouth watering! I’ve tentatively approached them about this but inevitably it boils down to cost as you have to request and pay for each individual piece of footage to be done.

Re: Ralph Broad with his GTS at Oulton 1966
I enjoyed watching that in the 2 hour Gt & Sports car cup race on Saturday; looked like it went really well although bit of an odd mix of cars in the race. i.e. a Cobra at one end of the pack… mini at the other
I didn’t get back there on Sunday but looking at the picture it was pretty damp!
Always a great event at Combe (weather aside)

Took some photos of the GTS back at Brooklands Mini Day in 2019. First time I had seen one in person and it was stunning.
