Let me add my thanks too Gary, for saving the best thing on the internet.

Previously, I was making a small monthly contribution to Mark through Paypal to help cover the basic costs (£2.00 per month) I'm more than happy to continue to do so.

cheers

I wish to THANK Mark for starting the mk1-forum and his continued support over the many years under his administration !!

Thank you to Gary for stepping forward to continue the forum.

My restoration efforts for my 1965 Mini Cooper S have been rewarded countless times over the years for being a member on this forum.

Thank you to all the forum members who offer their knowledgeable advice.

I've gained a '1275 Cooper S' signature.

I'm think you get promoted up the Mini model range based on the number of forum posts you have made....ie. Basic 850, 850 Super, 998 Cooper, 1275 Cooper S, etc.

Rookies get a "998 Cooper" signature, whereas the top experts have "1275 Cooper S" as an underwriting  ;)
Yes I am a nerd: I am researching the Austrian Mini-racing scene of the 60s and 70s :ugeek:

This place has been completely- a god send for me in my ever growing quest for classic mini knowledge... in working towards my dream of eventually driving mine.

There are not enough words to express gratitude to all of you.

The two aforementioned have it most!!

I was experimenting with some of the background functions to see if I could improve the forum for those who post a lot and regularly using the 'ranking' feature (negative, not much I can do on this platform!), but I thought it'd be a bit of fun anyway. Depending on how much you've posted, you move up through the rankings, can't recall the numbers of posts you have to do now but they are..

850 Basic
850 Super
998 Cooper
1275 Cooper S

Sorry to the 970, 997, 1071 and 1098 fans..

As regards your issues with replying to PMs, this might be related to the current challenges I'm having with getting the domain registered and pointing in the right places. See if it settles down in the coming days, if not, let me know in the Forum Issues section.

Cheers,
Gary
