Mk1 cooper S rear qtr window rubbers?
I have just fitted new rubber seals to my mk1 S opening rear windows and now the windows won’t shut. R there different sizes of rubber seals?

Common issue, dependent upon the manufacturer of the seals. Search the forum and you will find discussions on which may or may not be the best options. Who did you purchase yours from ?.

I used Pheonix supplied seals, no complaints

Read the post I linked and you will see that some seals work for some but not others. It possibly depends on when they were manufactured too as some folk have a good fit from a supplier and a couple of years later others have issues with the same supplier. Personally the Phoenix seal didn't work for me, far too thick, but this was several years ago so I have no idea what they are like now. Minispares was the final choice for me but again a few years ago. I would ask potential suppliers to send you photos of the cross section then decide yourself compared with what you have already tried.

Minispares are apparently working with their supplier to get the right profile. When the item comes back into stock, it’s supposed to be the correct profile.
I’m waiting on pair because my rear quarters won’t shut either. Phoenix on one side. Somerford on the other.

I had a sample of the new mini spares seal, It fitted great, thinner than the previous stuff they had. Not sure its for sale yet or not.

Will be interested to see, I bought and fitted Minispares ones several years ago and have never been able to fully close the windows however, when open I quite like listening to my exhaust note but should I take the car out in colder weather it is literally a pain in the neck.
