A magnetic compass Wes....... Surely not in a metal box? In the desert in Australia where we occasionally had to navigate with compasses, (no GPS then....) we had to stand a couple of yards away from our Lend Rovers and Trucks before we could take accurate compass readings.
You really wouldn't want to get lost in the vast Australian deserts, believe me!
