i give up, i spend my life sorting out warrenty issues because people insist on running piss thin oil and fully synthetic oil on the advice of 'experts' and am still wrong........

But if you look at my temperature vs viscosity graphs you'll see there is virtually no difference at running temperature. That is what surprised me and why I posted.
I've read the countless posts on 'piss thin oil' but that doesn't work out at 90°C and above. There must be something else to account for any wear differences.

,,,,...quite...piper 255 cam,a seriously modded head,h4,s, s crank as is all else lightened and balanced.. 10/40 mobil semi synth...nearly 6 years of running with no probs since a complete rebuild of box and engine.. rolling roaded by peter baldwin jan 2012 and gives 98 bhp at the rubber.!!.. enough said,ill not reply again .. promise

I am sure someone one here did a spread sheet with all the cams and there respective timings, lifts etc compared. Did I imagine it (quite possible) or can someone point me in the direction of the spread sheet please

Thats the cam I asked Keith for but he talked me into a RE130T, reckons its very good, might be binned quickly if it doesn't come up to expectations, it
had a 649 in it before

I have a brand new RE130t, still in its box, supposed to be good........ was going to use it in an inline engine, but project got moved on. As i understand it this cam was developed by Russell Engineering in Australia, correct springs are quite important as well. My motivation is to try and find a decent cam, just slightly more than a standard S cam, but one that you could also put some miles on.....with minimum mechanical impact on rocker gear train.......well see...

According to Keith's recent comment on an old post that came up on FB, the RE130T made 100lbs ft torque quite low down & 100bhp at around 6500rpm on a single SU (on Damico Racing's dyno ?) and a sports head, 10.5:1 compression ratio, I think it had 1.4 ratio rockers, this on a 1310cc motor but the post has now been taken down, i should have copied the post.
I would like the engine to produce 110 bhp (properly built of course) at around 7k but Keith thinks it would give that
found that post 'A whiffle under 100 bhp and 100 lb ft torque. Massively strong torque from 3,000 to 6,500. ' is what Keith says about that engine, equipped with a 1.75" SU
I have a 1360 with RE13ot, twin HS4 etc, drivable below 2K but pulls very strongly from about 2500. On Tipton RR produced max power of just over 100 and torque just below 100. This is the second engine that I have run with this cam finding it much better for my road going needs than 731, 276 and 286. Years ago found a 997 cooper cam very useable in a 1150 engine.
Steve Miles commented that my 1360 with RE13 OT was much stronger than a very flash mini with 649 that he had just had on the RR.
