Gearbox refitting - studs at back? Diagram anyone please?

Post by AndyPen »

I am just about to refit my gearbox at last, and can't for the life of me find the sketch I made so many years ago of what type of bolt goes where. I think the two studs are at the back as the diff is there for example, and the long one goes through the open locating dowel with the washer on top. Is there a diagram anywhere does anyone know? Once the gasket, half moon and sealant is in place I want to tighten it up quickly and not faff around ideally ;-)

This is probably the nearest you’ll get:
http://www.minispares.com/catalogues/cl ... spx?1~4~34

As you say - the two studs go above the diff. The rest should be fairly self explanatory.
5x long and 1x short across the front
4x short, 2x studs and a nut & bolt across the back

All makes sense - with the long bolt going through the hollow dowel? I have the washer and bolt from a request on here ;-)

Exactly that - bolt in from the top (so opposite to all the others that go up hill)

Great pictures from Floormanager

Tacking on to this, are the standard bolts grade 5 or 8 ?
Metric is for people who can't do fractions.
