Fuelling the Arden Head

Post by Fanfaniracing »

I have build me my dream Engine last Summer featuring an Arden 8 Port Head.

Because mi Mini is a 62 Austin Cooper i would like to keep the Carburettor Question as Classic as possible.
My first attempts with the Amals where difficult, first the Fuel pressure was to high resulting the Carbs to overflow.
Second attempt with lower pressure resulting the Carbs not overflow anymore but the fuel alimentation for the Engine semed to be to low.

Has anybody of you experiance with the Amals on a Arden Head?

Thanks for Answers !
I promise i won't buy another MkI...

Of corse. I Use a Filterking Fuel Filter with integrated Regulator.

I can say that the fuelling sems to work properly in the low rev, but when driving and pushing the Engine a little bit more then it sounds like the Engine has not enough Fuel. :?:

I have to say that at the moment a Pierburg Fuelpump is mounted on the Car.

Maybe a "good old" SU would be better for this Job? (less Presure...???)

Hi,

Are you sure that it is a problem of fuelling? I had such problems with DCOEs and it was caused by the ignition.

Regards.
