Braided hose kit

Post by Aginley »

Hi
Does anyone make a pre made braided kit for the Mk1’ ? I have the 4 bits to the wheels but am after front to back of the car and around the subframe etc. or is it a case of making them yourself?
Thanks

They are all metal on my car except, presumably, the 4 braided hoses you mention Aginley. I didn't realise that the front to rear would/could come in braided flexi form. Or am I missing something

I doubt there is anything off the shelf, but you should be able to get something made up if you know the lengths. Automec would be my first port of call, https://www.automec.co.uk/. One thing though I have heard is that over that kind of distance you do still get a bit of expansion of the pipe and can make the pedal a bit spongy - no idea if this is true

I’m with Gordon on that - I would hardline it with bulkhead connections as it goes in to/out of the car.
It’s difficult to get braided hoses looking neat between fixings as they snake along and they do have some flex

I've seen a front subframe kit, master cylinder and obviously the ones to the calipers/drums:

Having raced Mini’s for some years, running braided hoses front to back inside car posed no problems with spongy brake pedal feel.

Ive used Hel for the mini based kit cars( ABS Freestyle) Had them on the buggy since 2004 with no problems. All lines are flexable- no copper. Never had spongy pedal.
