Re: Adding Hazard Light Circuit
agree Hazards are essential on our old dog cars .. ( also a 3rd Brake Light ) ..sure the MS version will do the job, however i would never ever use any type of "Scotch Lock" the horrible wire crimp thing.. better option is hard wire into the Harness very easy if yours is a Mk1.
Also on install check for good Earths on each Indicator Light.

Yes, I don’t even know why they would offer those Scotch Connectors, useless.Polarsilver wrote: ↑Sat Jul 27, 2024 10:35 am agree Hazards are essential on our old dog cars .. I would use Lucas bullets & tie into the main bundle off the steering column.

I did mine. I did not use any Scotch-locks or break into the original loom. i got into the indicator circuit by making up a loom and removed pins from the indicator stalk connector.

Re: Adding Hazard Light Circuit
Point to be aware of. Does the unit come with a circuit diagram? If not, make sure that when you operate the hazard switch, you break the incoming (light green/brown ?) wire that feeds the original flashers. In other words, that it turns them OFF before the hazards come on.
Done that mistake too with the Lucas version........

Yes very true Peter. My inspiration was this video. I used the Lucas kit SFB300 but the principles are the same.Peter Laidler wrote: ↑Sat Jul 27, 2024 6:25 pm Point to be aware of. Re: Adding Hazard Light Circuit
Definitely an essential these days. I am still thinking of where to put switch on my car. The MGA has one we added under the dash near the indicator switch (which is on the dash not the column). IIRC we used a kit from Moss that came with the switch and relay.
Of course I know what a dipstick is, you get called something often enough you look it up!
