When I got my Traveller the radiator was out and there were no brackets. I couldn't believe how much hassle it was to get the radiator to fit correctly. My parts book lists six or seven different variations of the lower bracket but no way of knowing how much or in what way they vary. In the end I sourced what I thought was the correct bracket then spent hours tweaking it to get the radiator correctly located. It didn't take much of a bend to have a surprisingly large effect on the location of the radiator. I don't know how many times I put it in or took it out.

I suspect this issue has got worse recently, however it may be easier and there may be more tolerance to play with if all the parts are standard and you are using a generator.

TBH I cant remember where the brackets came from, but all are probably “copies of copies” rather than to an original drawing and so compounding any manufacturing errors……early or original brackets are looking more and more desirable!

Ok, in case this helps anyone else……..

Been comparing brackets….yeah I know…..should get out more….

Top bracket from 1071bob was spot on (of course) and was the same as an old one I found in my stash, a new Somerford bracket was the also same. All other brackets were miles out and had the effect of rotating the rad front edge towards the alternator, to lesser or greater degrees.

Original bottom bracket from Andrew, showed all new brackets I tried including Somerford were apx 7 degrees out of line ….easily rectified with a hammer, but a pain if you don’t know they are wrong.
