First time out since late last summer, a few teething issues in getting her started but a new dizzy cap and rotor arm later and back in business albeit driving back tonight and I lost the brakes! Always something!

So that’s why the brakes failed!
Any reason why this might have occurred? Had the car on the axle stands all other parts to the system look good, no leaks etc…
No fluid lost from the look of it but will have to bleed the system as air has been pumped into it.

I've had that happen with repro caps. Find an old original and it won't split. Not sure why you will have got air in the system because of this happening?

A few additions to the cooper, with NOS Kangol belts now installed, a set of mats from Mark (and no they do not look that bright in reality!) and a pair of newton recliners (I have up trying to find an original pair as well as microcells etc….

Finished restoring the Les Leston wheel, just got to sort out the broken screw in an original boss.

Getting close to where I want it!

That looks very smart! And are you happy with the seats? I'm considering a pair for my Cooper also, but I'm 6 ft 3 and I have no idea if they will anywhere near fit me. But that said, now I'm driving for years with the standard Cooper seats...

Yes the recliners are a massive improvement on the standard seat,, no more back ache.
The only thing I do find odd is the back pad feels quite narrow and can feel initially uncomfortable but it you get used to this after 5mins of driving with a smile on your face!.
The other option would be looking out for a pair of Microcell Contour seats - possibly a wider seat

It’s been a while since my last post but a few jobs completed over the winter (I know it’s nearly July!).
1/ annoying knocking has gone now following refurbishment of the steering rack
2/ tracking redone
3/ new steering wheel installed
4/ refurbished and installed revised air box
5/ oil and filter changed

Finally managed to get out today for its maiden voyage and it’s sounds and drives better than before!

Just found your photos of the roof trim half way through the thread.

Did the trimmer cut the headlining frame to fit?
