l have a 40819 distributor which has some damage to the circular bit where the clamp goes round. It's split three quarters of the way round.
I'm thinking of machining off the damage and just making up a sleeve and Loctiting it on.Has anyone ever done this or have a better method?Any ideas would be appreciated.

Re: distributor repair
There is a full repair detailed in the technical section I think -or somewhere in the forum tech section. It returns the distributor to better than new in my humble opinion. OIn this case, the broken flange was machined off and pressed on and grub screwed for completeness. It was me that did the artticle and gave the distributer away to a needy S restorer.
Good luck. All you need is a lathe and a piece of dural off0cut
